Rise of legends patch files

With weapons and war machines inspired by the famous design sketches of yep, you guessed it Leonardo da Vinci, the Vinci is essentially a steampunk nation. Its cities are packed with the classic signs of industry: rotating cogs, glistening pipes, walkways and chimneys belching out clouds of smoke. A closer look reveals the tiny shapes of Vinci workers going about their daily grind. It's alluring stuff.

Another thing about Rise Of Legends' cities is that they aren't just a collection of buildings placed in close proximity to one another; they are single, monolithic entities. When constructing them, you'll be able to assign specialist districts military, air force, science etc.

Sim City it ain't, but it should add another dimension to the game's visuals. And goddamn it if this game doesn't look jaw-droppingly lovely. Our review of the original Rise Of Nations applauded Big Huge Games for the fact it had put gameplay before graphical willy waving. Well, now that the gameplay side of things has been sorted, the willies are coming out in force - and by golly, there's a lot of waving to be done.

Reynolds tells us of his desire to create what he describes as blistering white-hot graphics, the sort of earth-shattering, cataclysmic shit that goes down when powerful magic goes toe-to-toe with advanced technology. Cities are just one aspect of it; the units are even more impressive.

Giacomo, for instance, strides about atop a giant two-legged walker, stomping enemies into the dust. He's backed up by the likes of airships, clockwork tanks and helicopters with corkscrew rotor blades. Another nation Reynolds showed off is the Alim, a magic-based civilisation that takes its cue from Arabian Nights.

So instead of tanks, robots and aircraft, an Alim general can call upon genies, sandstorms and giant scorpions. Two other nations will appear in the finished game one magical, one technological , but Big Huge Games is remaining tight-lipped with regards to names or details. The first major adversary you'll face in the game is the Doge, a power-hungry rival within the Vinci nation. He uses similar troops and vehicles to those available to Giacomo, but has a couple of enormously nasty tricks up his sleeve, at least if the level we watched Reynolds play through is anything to go by.

First up was a gigantic mobile cannon that pelted our home city with huge shells from afar. Reynolds sent a fleet of bombers to destroy it, and the physics were demonstrated nicely as the massive barrel of the now defunct howitzer pitched over a cliff.

Incidentally, all the troops in the game will ragdoll when blown up, and can be crushed by falling buildings. The second surprise was a terrifying mechanical spider. This giant steel beast ploughed through Giacomo's Alim allies like a hot knife through butter, slaying dozens of units in seconds. So far, it is not asking for my Product Key every time, but it likely will within the next few days; this is how it has gone every time I tried.

If it seems to have fixed itself, I shall let it be known here PS - After signing up here on Microsoft late last night, I got spam emails sent to my inbox this morning, and then got my Microsoft account temporarily suspended here until I gave my phone number for a confirmation code. It was hinting that I was the one that sent a bunch of spam, when it was my creating an account here that opened the floodgates Thank you for your response. So far, the cleaning of the registry and old files before a clean reinstall of the game seems to be holding up I will just hope it continues. Oh, and once again I will not be back. Any help would be appreciated. I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I've written a batch file to apply the patches that were already downloaded and kept in the patches directory off of the game directory in the hopes that this would fix the problem.

Nope, it just makes the problem appear immediately instead of after 20 minutes. So the only thing I'm down to is hitting up the good folk of Ars. Since all patches tend to be kept in the patch directory, theoretically anyone playing the game fully patched should have this file Hopefully, it's just this file that's needed. I don't know anything about the size of the thing but I have faith in the broadband supporting nature of the Ars community.

Anybody want to enrichen my ROL experience? Thanks in advance, -Del. I think I tried that once, but not recently. I'll give that another try. Also, because I never mentioned it in the OP, I've looked everywhere for a download location for these things without success - Apparently Microsoft has been crushing them when they're found. I can't imagine why. You'd think people not abusing your bandwidth would be a GOOD thing.

I've got hosting if someone doesn't have a place to upload the file. Also, any other solutions you guys may have for this I'd love to hear. I want to play online.. So gee.. Over a process of approx. Tell me I have "Unlimited support".

Drop the call while transferring. Give case number. Transfer successfully. Tell me you'll call back in 30 minutes after I get things reinstalled.

Start the update process again 12 Not call back. First guy is all apologetic at hearing it's my third call. Tells me he'll "Endorse" my call to a helpful tech support dude. It's a known issue with NO fix. All fixes must be downloaded with the game. I tell him that I have applied the patches previous to this one already through a batch file - All I'd need is the thrice-damned file, and I can patch it, no bloody application needed.

I mean, WTH? They'd rather refund my money then send me a damn file? This is complete and utter crap. In the next post, I'll put in the batch file I've used to utilize the existing patches, just in case it's useful to some errant searcher looking to avoid the fresh hell I've gone through.

AND, if I ever get my hands on those patch files, I'll share 'em with anyone who wants a copy. Anybody willing to share? This is the text of the. RTP patch. I've got the game, but its not installed.

I'll see what I can do tonight or tomorrow. I bought and played it before that patch came out and the game worked fine. Thanks travathian, I hope you have a good deal more luck than I. Ars saves the day again! I received an e-mail from an unknown Arsian today pointing out that a package including all the patches and an installer for the patches is available on "La Torrente".

I'll be a-trying that route with bated breath! Further reports as events warrant, but I'm feeling optimistic for this first time! I'm having this same problem could you tell me if this solution fixes it and also what is La Torrente? And how can I get it?
